Summer camps for children with special needs
Where can I find childcare for a kid with severe muscular dystrophy
(age 4)?
I am the CAC co-chair for the Tri-Valley Special Education Local Plan Area (SELPA). This is a volunteer parent run group that provides workshops to parents of children with special needs. We are planning a summer camp information fair on April 16 in Pleasanton. We are looking for camps that are accessible and friendly to children with special needs. If you know of any camps we would truly appreciate your help in providing us with their contact information and your feedback about the camp experience for your child. Thanks! Kimberley
- I have heard of the Quest Therapeutic Camps - 'The Quest Campers range from 6 to 16 years old and experience mild to moderate difficulties behaviorally, emotionally, or socially. They may have diagnoses of ADHD, anxiety, depression, learning disabilities, or social problems. They may have no diagnosis and just need help developing social skills and self-esteem.' Summer Location: Stone Valley Middle School Alamo, CA June 21-August 13 For more info: http://www.questcamps.com

Have you tried BANANAS? My kids haven't needed childcare in years
(they are teenagers), but they used to have listings based on disability services
as well. Their web site is http://www.bananasinc.org/
