Regional Center of the East Bay

My son receives speech therapy through the regional center of the east bay. The speech therapist is really great but the regional center administration has been less than impressive. I’m not sure if they’re way overworked or understaffed or what but I’ve had really bad problems with non returned calls, messages that never get received messed up appointments. Has anybody else had a similar experience or is it just me? Do you have any suggestions for how to get better service?

• RCEB is understaffed for its caseload, has limited funds, and a great deal of employee turnover. In addition, the staff usually feels unappreciated. Put that all together and you have a stressful work environment and burnout. The best way to get action from RCEB is to get the supervisor's name and phone number, and use it to complain & follow-up. You should also be sure to compliment RCEB people when you can; most everyone there wants to do a good job and feels unappreciated. I've also stopped by from time to time with a small treat for staff.
